COVID-19 Protocol and Practices:

Zen Skincare and Waxing Studio is OPEN. We have extended our working schedule to best serve the community.

Zen Skincare and Waxing Studio formed a panel to determine our best safety measures for you, our guests. We can assure you that we are going above and beyond all measures that the state has mandated for day spas to reopen. Zen Skincare and Waxing Studio will continue to provide the cleanest and safest environment that a day spa can offer.

• We have improved air filtration, including adding Ultra Violet – C light (UV-C) in the HVAC air system to kill any possible virus and bacteria in the air.
• We have created safer spaces and modified areas where contamination could occur. We have implemented a new revised process for check-ins and reception to allow for Social distancing.
• Many things will be different, but we can only see these as improvements to the already superior service you have come to expect from Zen Skincare and Waxing Studio. Thank you for your continued support and understanding.
• Our Front Desk Coordinator will check you in for your appointment by phone. Guests will wait in car until notified by a staff member that we are ready for their service. Please be considerate of the extra time that may be required to clean and sanitize our work area before service. We appreciate your patience with any possible delay.
• Clients will need to fill an electronic Covid-19 waiver before each visit.
• Clients will wash their hands/use hand sanitizer upon arrival.
• Our Front Desk Coordinator will check your temperature with a non-touch thermometer at arrival. If a guest has a fever or any presentable cold symptoms we will not be able to perform services. We will rebook guest in a minimum of 2 weeks out. We appreciate your understanding.
• Guests may bring their own facial covering/masks, or we can provide one for your visit. All services require a mask at this time.
• The mask requirements does not allow us to perform anti-aging facial services at this time but we can provide skincare consultations and discuss our Professional Rhonda Allison skincare line to assist you with your skincare goals.
• Services are by reserved appointment only. One client per esthetician in day spa. No guests, companions, friends, children UNLESS they are receiving service at the same time. Companions will wait outside.
• Treatment rooms and entire day spa is now sanitized with hospital grade cleanser designed to eliminate Coronavirus, and any other transmittable contagion before each guest.
• We are temporarily using disposable one use wraps for guests during this timeframe.
• We have given our estheticians extra timeframes for the additional cleaning between guests.
• Please allow our staff to gather your retail products. We can collect them from inventory and have them ready at the reception area. Help us to minimize contact to serve you better. You may also order skincare products by phone for curbside pickup.
• We have discontinued our beverage services. Please bring your own water/drink container at this time.
• Social distancing will be practiced by staff throughout the day.
• Our staff members are empowered to make their best decisions for scheduling a comfortable and safe working condition. We ask that our clientele be understanding of our policies and personal conditions that could impact scheduling.
• When you are at Zen Skincare and Waxing Studio, your health and safety are our top priority. We are committed to excellence in results oriented professional skincare!
• Our “New” Luxury Golden Body Wax will provide you with an exceptional waxing experience.

Phase II Re-Opening June 8th

     Zen Skincare is happy to announce that on June 8, 2020 we will be reopening during phase 2 of Governor Cooper’s plan to reopen NC businesses. We would like to Thank You All for the overwhelming amount of support by of phone calls, emails, product and gift certificate purchases. We have truly missed seeing each of you and sharing our love of skincare. We will continue to make every effort to reschedule guests that were scheduled during the mandated closure.

As we prepare we want to assure you that the health and safety of our guests are our top priorities and because Covid-19 is still a concern we will proceed with necessary precautions. Therefore, during phase 2 we will have limited availability of specific services. Due to the current data and potential rise in COVID-19 cases, we do not plan on offering facial services during Phase 2, and our service menu may be limited to full body waxing treatments and lash/brow services. However, we will continue to provide Skincare Consultations where we can make professional recommendations for follow-up care at home. We suggest that anyone with underlying medical conditions wait until phase 3 to resume your spa visits. Your patience, cooperation and understanding is appreciated as we make this transition.

We are taking every precaution to keep our guests and employees as safe as possible. With guidance from the CDC, our industry’s governing board and our local health department we have expanded our already stringent sanitation and disease prevention practices to include frequent disinfection of all public areas of the spas, as well as PPE for all staff members.

We have updated our client policies to allow for the safest environment and we respectfully request that you adhere to the following in order to be a guest at Zen Skincare during phase 2. We reserve the right to refuse service to those who are not willing to cooperate with these policies.

Re-Opening Guidelines:

1. We are not able to take walk-ins, for short notice appointments please call first for availability. We ask that retail clients call and allow us to bring your purchase curbside.
2. Please do not come into Zen Skincare if you are feeling unwell or think you may have been exposed to Covid-19. We will accept late cancellations with no penalty for those reasons.
3. Wait in your car or outside until your appointment time to minimize contact between guests.
4. Do not bring anyone who is not receiving a service and do not bring food into the spa.
5. Both guest and your esthetician will be required to wear a facial covering/mask for the entire duration of your appointment. Please be prepared to provide your own mask, however, if you do not have a mask one will be available to you.
6. Upon entering please sanitize your hands, allow a check of your temperature and fill out our Covid-19 safety questionnaire if you have not done so electronically 24hrs prior to your service.
7. Ask a staff member to help you with any retail to minimize contamination risk.
8. When checking in or out please maintain 6 feet of space between you and other guests, and complete your transaction with a card on file when possible.

If you have an appointment scheduled (For Month of May) or have had to cancel an appointment due to mandated closures we will work to get rescheduled as quickly as possible once we are able to re-open.

Regarding our date set for re-opening, we are continuing to pay close attention to guidelines set forth by our state regulating agencies. Please be aware that our business is being categorized as “Personal Care Services”  and current guidelines set forth will allow us to be included with all Phase 2 business re-openings. Per our State Licensing Agency, The North Carolina Board of Cosmetic Art Examiners, and our Governor, Roy Cooper please read the most recent State Mandated Closure Guidelines:
Salon and School Reopening Updates Governor Cooper announced the tentative reopening date for cosmetic art shops in NC has been rescheduled. Executive Order 135 has extended the stay at home order through May 8, 2020 at 5:00.  After May 8, a tentative phased return to work plan will address the opening of businesses that can operate with social distancing and later a second phase may include salons with restrictions regarding numbers of customers.

We will continue to keep you all informed  of our re-opening date as the we are notified by our licensing board. Please check our emails, newsletters, website, text communications for these updates.
